Movietools - Sony Vegas Render Templates

This tutorial shows, how to create render templates for Sony Vegas. You'll need those templates for our Vegas tutorials.

Step 1

Start Sony Vegas and create a new project (PROJECT -> NEW). In the "Video"-field choose "match media settings" and select a downloaded background loop from your hard drive. Sony Vegas will create a project with NTSC-widescreen settings (864x486 / 29,97 fps).

Step 2

Import that loop into your project (PROJECT -> IMPORT MEDIA) (1). Put that background into the timeline (2), because you're not able to create render-templates with an empty timeline:

Step 3:

Click on "PROJECT -> RENDER AS" and select a Quicktime template (1). Now click on "CUSTOMIZE TEMPLATE" (2):

Step 4

Enter "Movietools - NTSC No Compression" as name for the preset (1). Adjust all parameters like shown in the following image (2), select the audio-tab, uncheck "include audio" and hit the tiny disk symbol to save the preset (3):

Step 5

Repeat Step 3 and 4 but enter those settings:

That's all. Now the two new render presets are available.

#2 Doesn't work for me. The video renders just fine, but it isnt transparent. If you could get back to me, that would be great.
